History

The history of what was once called the Boner’s Family Palace, by the name of one of its owners, dates back to the 13th century. The building belongs to the finest monuments of the mixed architecture in the Old Krakow. The brick building called the tower house was already present in the 13th century. In 1836 its front elevation was modified, and in the middle of the 19th century the whole edifice was rebuilt – the side projection was enlarged, the whole building was raised to three floors, and the new staircase was added. It was then that the building gained its eclectic, historic character.

One of the greatest treasures discovered by the researcher is the column located on the 1st floor – gothic shaped pillar. The second most interesting discovery is the 2nd floor 17th century polychrome depicting rural scenes, which is one of the most precious elements of the kind in this part of Europe, and a true feast for the eye.

We invite you to The Bonerowski Palace, a place where history and the spirit of centuries mingle with the modern technology, comfort, and the world cuisine.
